- Westword Best of Denver: Banh Mi
- Owned and run by the Huynh family
A Denver banh mi tradition
The Huynh family has baked in Denver since 1980, when Hung Huynh opened the first Vinh Xuong. His son Duc and daughter Yen run the bright cafe on West Alameda, where baguettes are baked in the shop every morning and the mooncakes are still made by hand.

What regulars order
Banh mi
Sandwiches on baguettes baked fresh that morning, layered with house-made meats, pate, pickled carrots and daikon, cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeno.
Vietnamese coffee and milk teas
Strong Vietnamese iced coffee, plus lavender, honeydew, and taro milk teas, iced teas, and smoothies.
Fresh from the case
Baguettes baked every morning, sesame balls, hand-made mooncakes, and Vietnamese-French pastries.
Why people keep coming back
Baked here every morning
Baguettes come out of the oven daily, so the banh mi is built on warm, crackly bread.
Made by hand
Mooncakes and Vietnamese-French pastries are made in the same kitchen, the way the family has done for decades.
Quick and friendly
Order at the counter for takeout, or sit in the sunny cafe with a Vietnamese coffee.
